Using HSLDA Academy for Electives
HSLDA stands for Homeschool Legal Defense Association. They run an academy for homeschoolers through Patrick Henry Collage.
You can find more information about HSLDA Academy in the Curriculum Section under Academies. But following is a brief overview about using them for electives.
In addition to main subjects, HSLDA offers several classes that can be used for electives, each of which contain a full semester or year of work. Classes are acceptable as an official homeschooling curriculum, so they can be used for subjects that would be required to have an actual curriculum, such as technology credit toward high school graduation.
They are somewhat costly, at $579 per year, or $399 for a semester course. HSLDA members receive a discount, making the courses $499 and $349. However, courses have live classes once a week, and a live teacher that is very interactive with the student. They can also talk to peers during classes.
The coursework is advanced. The educational value is excellent. And there is a high accountability for the student.
We highly recommed all of HSLDA Academy's classes.
